TME January 07 Cover

The O’Shaughnessy (originally Hetch Hetchy) Dam was one of the subjects covered in a 1922 Military Engineer article on the rebuilding of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake. The dam, situated in Yosemite National Park, provides water and electricity to San Francisco and other communities, but has been the subject of fierce debate between environmentalists and the government for more than 100 years.
