OVERVIEW AND WELCOME

Dust off your golf clubs, the 4th Annual S.A.M.E. - Fort Belvoir Post Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament is fast approaching!!!

After a successful tournament last year with 76 golfers, we again have the generous support of the S.A.M.E. Fort Belvoir Post Sustaining Members and local businesses to ensure that scholarship funds will be available to deserving metropolitan Washington area students.

The upcoming June 12th, 2003 Tournament will be conducted at the beautiful and demanding Woodlawn Course, part of the Fort Belvoir Golf Facility.  The original design of the North 18 holes was done in part by world renowned course designer Robert Trent Jones, who is responsible for hundreds of course designs and renovations including Augusta National, site of the Masters Tournament.  In 1995, the North facility was expanded to 36 holes under direction of Thomas Ault Clark and Associates, whom are responsible for famous designs such as Tournament Players Club at Avenel, home of the Kemper Open.  The culmination of these two designing greats has resulted in one of the finest military golf facilities in the world.

So what can you expect for the fourth tournament?  Several things are for certain: we will raise money for a great scholarship program, look for great giveaways, plenty of food, a world-class golf course, good times, and an opportunity to meet government and civilian colleagues within the engineering community.

Dewberry is pleased to announce that it will be a sponsoring sustaining member of this fundraising event.  In fact, a large percentage of Dewberry staff are golfers, and we are looking forward to playing this year.  With such a great entry fee price, we recommend that you send your entry in today!
