2007 Blue Ridge Post,

Ron Friestad Scholarship Golf Tournament

On September 14, 2007, the Blue Ridge Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) will hold the 2007 Ron Friestad Scholarship Golf Tournament at Jackson’s Chase Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia. 

 

The four man Captain’s choice (best ball) tournament is open to all SAME and CE Transatlantic Programs Center members (active and retired), guests, friends, family, community members and sponsors.

 

Registration starts at 11:00 AM.  Tee off is at 12:00 PM with a shotgun start.  There will be a dinner and awards presentation following the tournament.

 

The cost is $60.00 per person or $100 for married couples (price includes green and cart fees and dinner).

TOPICS:  Defense Security and Cooperation Agency (DSCA) and Siemens One Company

 

SPEAKERS:  Teddy Allen, Lieutenant General U.S. Army (Ret.); and George Borgh, Senior Director, Global Business Development, Army and International Programs

 

This month’s luncheon will include presentations by two speakers.  General Allen will discuss DSAA (Defense Security Assistance Agency), now called DSCA (Defense Security and Cooperation Agency).  This organization is responsible for all the military sales around the world.  International sales of military goods and services average $10B - $12B annually.  DSCA also manages the IMET (International Military Education and Training) program.  Congress appropriates about $42 million per year to train 5000-6000 individuals from about 120 countries in professional military schools.

George Borgh will present an overview of the Siemens Company with emphasis on their global presence and broad Critical Infrastructure Portfolio.  Examples of accomplished programs by Siemens Operating Entity will be given and how they align their corporate skills with government requirements and needs in the Overseas market.
