The goal of the Century House Fund is to raise sufficient funds to create a Gallery of Military Engineer Leaders in, and complete a major renovation of, the historic SAME headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, Va. The Gallery will include museum-style displays to showcase our leaders—past and present. In addition, this renovation campaign will fund the needed restoration of the façades and windows on the exterior of the building.
The Century House Fund covers the planned scope of work, which includes:
Establishment of a Gallery of Military Engineer Leaders museum
Renovations of the conference room with a museum and modern conference facility
Restoration of the entry foyer to the building
Restoration of the facades and windows on the exterior of the front of the building
The Century House Fund was initially a short-term campaign through October 31, 2006, which culminated with the presentation of the check at the SAME Southwest and Rocky Mountain Regional Education and Training Conference, Nov. 7–9, 2006. Since then, the Fund's goal has been expanded to include ongoing improvements and renovations of the historic Century House.
