In August of 2013, the Coastal Carolina Post hosted our Second Annual Small Business Conference at the Paradise Point Officers Club aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.  This year?s conference focused on ?Understanding Joint Ventures, Teaming Agreements and Mentor Prot?g? Agreements?.  Participants included David Rose, Attorney at Law (whose firm was selected as the 2012 National SAME Small Business Advocate of the Year) and Jim Bell, PE who anchored the conference with an interesting discussion based on personal experience with business teaming arrangements.  The conference concluded with a panel discussion involving the principal speakers and Sue Kranes, formerly with NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic and currently with the North Carolina Military Business Center, Marty Ray, Vice President of Strategy and Planning for Zapata, Kim Vallone, the Deputy for Small Business for the OICC at MCB Camp Lejeune, and Bob Sinclair, the Director of Operations with Atriax Group.

Sustaining Member Pitch

Sustaining Member Firms have in the past been given an opportunity to provide a five minute business pitch at the beginning of each Monthly Meeting.  This benefit to supporting firms has not been taken advantage of in recent Post meetings, but we are reviving this opportunity and are asking interested Sustaining Member Firms to consider presenting a five minute (maximum, please J) business brief at one of next year?s meetings.  If you are interested in claiming your company?s spot, please provide your request via e-mail to Greg Pagett at gregory.pagett@amec.com.
