COLORADO
FAST START PROGRAM
Mission: To support the government at all levels in their emergency preparedness
The Denver Metro Post
is participating in the Society's Fast Start Program.
A plan was created in 2003 that outlines how civilian architectural and engineering
firms, construction contractors, materials suppliers, and other firms can interact
with military and government emergency response agencies in the Colorado Front
Range area to effectively respond to any major emergency. It is regularly updated
in support of the Society's commitment to come to the aid of governments and
citizens in times of national emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.
The Readiness Chairs of both the Colorado Springs Post and the DMP have been working with officials of the Colorado Office of Emergency Management (OEM) in an effort to make the FAST START plan more user-friendly, and ensure its distribution to appropriate emergency management leaders.
As a result of these meetings, the OEM has agreed to maintain copies of this plan in their emergency operations center as a reference, and the Post Readiness Committees will distribute copies of the plan to all County emergency management officials throughout the State of Colorado. The FAST START plan may also be distributed to other government agencies with responsibility for homeland defense and emergency response, and included on the SAME National and Post websites.
