Welcome to the Society of American Military Engineers!
SAME is a nonprofit professional engineer association, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with chapters (called Posts) worldwide. Founded in 1920, it was established in an effort to engage military and federal government engineers with those in the private sector for the purpose of improving the engineering potential of the United States. The Society today has some 25,000 members nationwide from all levels of industry, the military, government, and academia.

There are a wide range of general topic areas in which DMP is most interested in having presentations; however, all topics relevant to the SAME mission would be given serious consideration. DMP Loses One of Its Very Best.

In Memory of John K. Bright, PE, FSAME

John K. Bright, P.E., FSAME died on January 14, 2012, at the Hospice of Saint John after losing a long, gallant battle spanning most of 2011.

John was recognized in December 2010 by the Denver Metro Post for his lifetime of outstanding and meritorious service to the country, the engineering profession and SAME. John was instrumental in rejuvenating the then moribund Post in the 70’s to one of the premier posts in the Society.

John is survived by his lovely wife, Diana, five sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.
