Event: Hampton Roads SAME Post meeting presentation on "Geothermal Heat Pump
Systems"

Scope: The purpose of the event is to bring engineers, architects,
construction managers, and environmental specialists together for a professional
broad overview presentation on how geothermal
heat pumps systems are designed, constructed, and operated. We will discuss the
characteristics that allow geothermal heat pumps to reduce energy use in
commercial and institutional facilities when compared to other HVAC systems. We
will also cover lessons learned from past geothermal heat pump projects.
Learning Objectives:
1. Generally understand when geothermal heat
pumps are a good HVAC system selection and also when they should be
avoided.
2. Become
generally familiar with the major components of geothermal heat pump systems and
how they fit together to serve as the building HVAC system.
3. Learn how geothermal heat pumps can save
energy.
4. Generally
understand the design and construction of geothermal heat pump systems.
CE/PDH : This 50 minute presentation will provide
with you one CE/PDH credit.
