INSTRUCTIONS FOR JOINING THE KOREA POST OF THE SOCIETY OF AMERICAN MILITARY ENGINEERS

Purpose.

This flyer is designed to assist prospective members of the Korea Post, Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) to either join SAME for the first time or to re-establish a previously expired membership.

    Types of Memberships and National SAME Dues Schedule.

        Regular Members:

    1. 1 Year $65.00

    2. 2 Years $120.00

    3. 3 Years $170.00

      Young Members (<35 years old) and NCO’s:

  1. 1 Year $30.00

  2. 2 Years $52.00

  3. 3 Years $73.00

    Korea Post Dues.

    Until Monday, 31 Dec 2007

  4. Regular Members $14/year

  5. Young Members/NCOs $7/year

    Starting 1 JAN 2008

  6. Regular Members $15/year

  7. Young Members/NCOs $5/year 3. Prorated Amount.

    SAME National Headquarters is currently in the process of changing the membership renewal process from a anniversary cycle (where you renew/pay the next year’s dues on the anniversary of the date you joined) to an annual cycle (where all members renew at the start of the calendar year).

    You can start your membership by paying prorated dues through 31 December 2004 and the full amount of the Post dues which are not prorated.

  8. Prorated amounts are:

    Regular Members $5 or $6/month

    Young Members/NCOs $2.50/month

    Example: A new Young Member joining in November 2007 would pay $5.00 ($2.50 for each of the months of November and December 2007) plus $7 Post dues for a total of $12.00 to cover membership through the end of 2007. He will owe 2008 renewal dues of $35.00 ($30.00 national dues and $5.00 post dues) on 1 January 2008.

  9. How to Join.

    There are two ways to join; on line, by telephone and by mail.

    On Line Membership: Go to (SAME.org / Renew/Update Membership Info)

        Complete the on-line application according to your membership category.

        Pay either by credit card on line or mail a check after-the-fact.

        Membership by Telephone: Call the SAME Headquarters Membership Department at-

        Helpful Hints.

        When providing your e-mail address on the membership application, use your AKO address. That way your annual renewal notices can follow you wherever you go!

        Take advantage of discounts which are especially beneficial to Young Members and NCOs.

        Example: A new Young Member that joins through the end of 2007 gets a $15.00 discount of his 2008 fee for joining an “additional” year. He pays $12.00 for 2007 as in the previous example plus only $20.00 on his 2008 dues ($30.00 national dues minus $15.00 discount plus $5.00 post dues) and does not need to renew unit January 2009.
