SAME MONTHLY MEETING April 21, 2010 11:30 a.m.
Who: LTC Gary Bloomberg - Lieutenant
Colonel Gary Bloomberg is currently the Chief of the Special Forces
Integration Team-Eglin which is a subordinate element of the United
States Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) located at Fort Bragg,

SFG Eglin Overview - Lieutenant Colonel Gary Bloomberg's six man team
consisting of 3 Special Forces Soldiers and 3 Department of Army
Civilians are responsible for integrating the Soldiers and Family
members of the 7th Special Forces Group (SFG) onto Eglin AFB and into
the surrounding communities. Working in partnership with Eglin AFB,
State, County, and Local officials, his team is developing innovative
partnerships and programs to address the needs of the 2200 Soldiers and
4300 Family members of the 7th SFG (A).

2010 SAME Engineering Scholarship - Applications Due April

To encourage and assist qualified students who wish to pursue
a college education in the field of engineering so that they, in
turn, might further the goals and exemplify the ideals of SAME,
the Mobile Post is pleased to announce it will sponsor a $2,000
Engineering Scholarship to be awarded for the 2010 Fall
Semester. To be eligible for the SAME Scholarship, applicants
must:
- Be a full-time student at the University of South
Alabama,
- Have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and
- Have a declared major in Engineering or
Engineering-related Sciences.
Selection of the 2010 SAME Scholarship Recipients will be
based on the following criteria:
- Scholastic achievement
- Military and/or Engineering Work Experience
- Leadership
- Evidence of good character and well-rounded personal
development
- Dedication to achieving a career in the field of
Engineering

HOW TO APPLY:
- Complete the
SAME Scholarship Application.
- Write a personal essay about why you have chosen to
pursue a career in the field of Engineering and what you
hope to accomplish.
- Furnish one copy of your most recent transcript.
- Submit the Application, Personal Essay, and Transcript
no later than April 1, 2010

academic year.

The SAME Post Leaders Workshop was held in Alexandria, VA
at the Hotel Monaco on 10-11 September, 2009. We had a great time
and many questions were answered and hopefully everyone left with
the necessary tools and information needed to help your Posts
continue successfully. The workshop presentations and briefing can

The next SAME Post Leaders Workshop is
scheduled to be held on March 4-5, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. This
workshop will be held in conjunction with the student workshop. The
registration will open up in December.
