A Message from the President

I am excited to be the Mobile Post President and in a position to share with you the wonderful opportunities associated with membership.  The Mobile Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) provides professional development and social opportunities for military, public agency, and private industry engineers, planners, and management consultants involved in military and public works projects that support national defense and the public welfare.  We seek out opportunities to promote the Engineering career field and have numerous initiatives involving young men & women and adolescents that provides them a keen appreciation for the value of engineers in society. Additionally, we promote community service with supporting efforts towards our military deployed families and the Wounded Warrior Program.

This last year was a great year for the SAME Mobile Post.  We were selected as the Top Large Post, won all four Streamers with distinction, increased membership by more than 26% and activated a SAME Student Chapter at the University of South Alabama that has grown to more than 70 student members. 

 Our membership is open to all individuals interested or active in military affairs, engineering and public works.  To join and see how you can become involved contact anyone of our officers, attend one of our monthly meetings, or contact one of our members.  As part of our commitment to the future of the engineering field, the Post offers scholarships to graduating high school students intending to study engineering in college. 

General membership meetings of the Mobile Post are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month.  Please check the events page of this website for specific meeting dates and locations.
