Goal 1: EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE. Support emergency preparedness, response, recovery and infrastructure resilience consistent with the risk management framework of the National Preparedness System and the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP).

Goal 2: JOINT ENGINEER DOCTRINE AND OPERATIONS. Enhance knowledge of joint engineer doctrine and operations through education and professional development of military engineers and industry, using the SAME Joint Engineer Contingency Operations (JECO) Committee to facilitate implementation with national events and support to Posts.

Goal 3: EDUCATION AND TRAINING. Promote, enhance and reinforce the professional and technical competence of SAME members and the architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) community through outreach, training, credentialing and continuing education programs.

Goal 4: RELATIONSHIPS AND RECOGNITION. Foster inter-disciplinary, inter-agency, inter-service, international, and public and private sector sharing of information, technology and business practices, and recognize accomplishments of SAME members.

Goal 5: LEADERSHIP AND MENTORING. Cultivate leadership competence and mentoring within SAME by providing opportunities for members, particularly Young Members, to fill leadership roles and to mentor and inspire students of all ages to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).


Men and women of the uniformed services may join SAME for a one-time membership fee; this new career membership is active for the duration of the individual's career in the uniformed services. Civilians employed by the uniformed services may join SAME at a substantially reduced rate for a 3-year or 5-year term. Click here to join SAME now.
