Each year the New Jersey Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), through the New Jersey Post SAME Scholarship Fund, Inc, awards a minimum of one $1000 one time scholarship to a college or university student studying Architecture, Engineering or a related field who will be entering their second through last year of undergraduate study in the upcoming year. In the past several years between one and four scholarships have been awarded.
The general criteria that is considered by the selection Committee includes school and community activities, educational goals, academics, recommendations and employment together with any extenuating circumstances.
All applications must be nominated by New Jersey Post SAME member. The Post can put an applicant in contract with a Post member to sponsor them.
Applications are normally due in Mid March and the due dates are announced by the beginning of each calendar year.
The New Jersey Post SAME awarded 5 each $1000 one year scholarships for the school year 2011-2012.
Bocchino, Joseph – Joseph Attends Fairfield University. He is studying Mechanical Engineering. Next year he will be a Junior.
Farrell, Timothy – Timothy attends Rutgers University. He is studying Biomedical Engineering. Next year he will be a Senior. He is an Army ROTC Cadet. He was a scholarship recipient last year.
DeSantis, Dana - Dana attends Stevens Institute of Technology. She is studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. Next year she will be a Junior.
Page, Robert - Robert attends Rutgers University. He is studying Mathematics. Next year he will be a Junior. He is an Army ROTC Cadet.
Krov, Edward - Edward attends Rutgers University. He is studying Mathematics. Next year he will be a Senior. He is an Army ROTC Cadet.
