In lieu of the next SAME General Membership & Business Meeting we will be having our Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. The Golf Tournament is being held on September 24th, at the A.C Read Golf Course aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola. There are many great opportunities open to all for sponsorship and participation. Last year was a great success and because of everyone's generous contributions our Post was able to put even more back into the community than ever before.

On June 12th at our SAME luncheon Jonathon Moore was presented with a check for $1000.00. He is a junior at the University of West Florida, majoring in Construction Technology and is also a former Marine and Iraq War Veteran. Jonathon is one of two of our scholarship winners this year.

The Post sent two representatives to the SAME Joint Engineer Training Conference at Minneapolis the week of 19 May. The conference addressed Contingency Engineering, Installation Management, Design and Construction, Water Resources and Professional Development. The Expo included networking areas, product demonstrations and information booths on the numerous products and services that help the A/E/C community work efficiently and effectively. Our Post received the 2007 Membership Streamer. LT John Jeffrey and LTJG Dane Elles gave a presentation on their experience and tried to relay a lot of what National is trying to accomplish through all the posts. | |

On July 17th, Col. Steve Hoarn, the SAME South Central Region Vice-President, attended the Post’s monthly meeting. During the meeting, Col Hoarn presented the Pensacola Post Treasurer, Christine Buziak, the Vice President’s Medal for her dedicated and distinguished support to the Post as Treasurer over the past 5+ years. |
The mission of the Society of American
Military Engineers is to promote and facilitate engineering
support for national security by developing and enhancing
relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public
and private sector engineers, and related professionals.
The Pensacola Post of SAME includes over 100 military and
civilian members and 11 sustaining member firms from the Florida
Gulf Coast. Luncheon meetings are normally held on the Thursday
of the fourth week of each month at the Officers Club at NAS
Pensacola. Guests are always welcome to attend. We invite you to
