The Pensacola Post of the Society of American Military Engineers offers many
scholarship opportunities for local students pursuing degrees in the
engineering field.
Several $1,000 scholarships are available each year to both local high
school seniors and current college students planning careers in the
engineering field. These scholarships may be utilized for tuition, books
and other academic fees related to the pursuit of an engineering degree.
Additional requirements are detailed in the attached applications. The
deadline for submitting your application for these scholarships is April 16,
2010.
UWF Scholarship Endowment
SAME has established a need-based scholarship endowment at the University of
West Florida for engineering students who reside in Escambia and Santa Rosa
counties. It is a non-renewable scholarship and preference will be given to
veterans or active duty military personnel. Awards will be made by the
Office of Financial Aid.
PJC Peter K. Wallek Scholarship Endowment
Peter K. Wallek scholarships are available to Pensacola Junior College
pre-engineering students. This endowment is in honor of Mr. Peter K.
Wallek, one of the original organizers of the Society of American Military
Engineers in the Pensacola area. Mr. Wallek was a dedicated professional
with the unique distinction of being both a professional architect and a
professional engineer. This scholarship program is administered by PJC.
