2014-15 Pikes Peak Post Scholarship Information


The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Pikes Peak Post intends to award multiple scholarships to Engineering Students for the 2014-2015 school year.

Applicants must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a full-time undergraduate Engineering degree program at an accredited college or university in the fall term of 2014. Applicants who have earned an undergraduate degree or who are enrolled in a graduate degree program are not eligible. All applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 basis) to be eligible to apply. The minimum GPA requirement applies to both high school and college students. No scholarship will be awarded for those pursuing an associate, second undergraduate or graduate school degree. Applicants who receive an appointment to one of the U.S. Military Academies (or affiliated preparatory schools) or are awarded a full scholarship at any accredited U.S. post-secondary institution of higher education are not eligible to receive funds from this program. A full scholarship is usually defined as one that provides for payment of tuition, books, lab fees, and other related expenses. An ROTC scholarship is considered a full scholarship.

Applicants must be pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and either is interested in pursuing a military career or has at least one family member (sibling, parent, or grandparent) who is either:

1) An active SAME member,
(2) A current member of the U.S. military, or
(3) Retired from the U.S. military.

Applicants must be high school seniors expecting to enroll in college for the 2014-2015 school year or returning college sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled in a college or university for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Our intent is to target scholarship awards to Pikes Peak Post area high school students and college students attending College / Universities throughout Colorado; however this is not a requirement and The Post reserves the right to offer scholarships to any qualified candidates.

School Year 2013-2014 Scholarship Winners

The Pikes Peak Post Scholarship Program for the 2013-2014 school year received applications from an incredibly talented and competitive group of students. Our evaluation process, which typically targets local high school senior students or current college students at universities throughout Colorado and the country, always considers every application, looking for the most qualified applicants.

The Pikes Peak Post awarded scholarships in the amount range from $1000 to $2,000 to four students, totaling $6,000.00 in awards! Each student was recognized at our Post luncheon on May 14, 2013.
