Program:

“Historical Metal Truss Bridges”

The Sault Ste. Marie Historical Development Commission and the Chippewa County Historical Society are sponsoring this presentation by Mr. Vern Mesler.   Following the presentation, we will meet for dinner.

Mr. Mesler will discuss historical bridge designs, the parts of an historical bridge, the development of wrought iron and steel and fabrication techniques such as riveting.

Note.  Mr. Meslr is a consultant to the City on the Fort Street Bridge replacement.  The original bridge will be re-assembled at the Ashmun Bay Park.
